Surf Villa Hotel

a very quiet and peaceful stay. this place offers a great location and feels like you’re staying in a guest room at a family beach house rather than a hotel. staff was lovely and extremely welcoming, room is fairly small but comfortable and clean. the bedside light unfortunately didn’t work in our room and the shower is a little tight, but other than that this place was a quaint getaway for us.

Budget hotel. Can see the beach/boardwalk entrance from the front entrance. It is a stone throw away. Free street parking in the area, though pay a convenience fee to use hotel parking. Spacious room, tight bathroom space. The bathroom floor needed repairs--tight standing shiwer space. Curtain rod missing. Bring your own bathroom essentials like shampoo and conditioner.

So i will start by addressing the elaphant in the room, Yes the hotel is old....very old. However it is NOT dirty! Ive stayed here twice now. It is the perfect place for a cheap stay down by the boardwalk, especially if you plan on eating out ! Now if you're a person who thinks this 50$ a night hotel should be like the 4 seasons this is not the place for you. The rooms do have fridges though. The gentleman that runs the front desk is very sweet, the maid staff is very nice as well. The room, bathroom etc were all clean. Fresh linens ( that smelled so good btw) haha. It might not have central A/C but their window units had me FREEZING! in the best way possible. They also have a front and back deck with chairs and tables to smoke, eat or just relax. Overall it was a great experience, this hotel is meant to show the roots of OC not be a glamorous modernized hotel. People who've grown up coming here can appreciate that like myself!

It’s a vintage model, is like going back in the 80’s I love the porch and the staff the guy in the reception is very welcoming and friendly. We stay at surf villa every year when we come to Ocean City. I love the soda machine at the lobby. The hotel is like home

Not sure of all the negative reviews. My husband and I found the property to be charming as it felt like stepping back into a time before everything was overly commercialized. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Gave us a small heater for the evening as part of the charm is the old beach house feel. Room was very clean and perfect for our last minute excursion. Was wonderful being so close to the boardwalk and the price was great. Would most definitely stay again.

Absolutely fantastic service. Owner was so kind, very accommodating, and location was right next to the beach and boardwalk. Best prices you'll get around here! What truly distinguishes this retreat, however, is its quiet understanding of seaside rhythm. Our mornings began with the gentle murmur of waves that feels like a celebration of the senses. There is a quiet sort of luxury to be found here. This hotel is more than a place to stay -- my friends and I found a home away from home.

Stayed in room 18. Our only complaint was that the door jam is slightly broken so it took a few tries to get the lock to work. Ultimatly, the lock always worked, if we persevered. The room was small (you get what you pay for, this hotel had comparatively low rates for memorial day weekend). More importantly, it was very clean, and because it was small housekeeping even cleaned up our mess so they could make the bed. They also swept the sand out (best housekeeping we've ever had, they folded our clothing!). Parking was abundant once we found overflow parking by the Blue Wave (see the $20 all day sign heading south from Blue Wave on Philadelphia Ave.) There's a sign but it was hard to see when we first arrived. Overflow was 2 min walk from hotel (and free, despite the sign). Air conditioning unit worked well. The place cooled down in 15 min. Enjoy this cozy, simple but well run, hotel! Just don't bring a huge amount of stuff with you and you'll do fine. As importantly, the hotel is a 2 min walk from the boardwalk, well positioned to give you access to OC's beaches and ofte charming local restaurants.

Best thing in ocean city for the price. The rooms are quite small and showers are tight. TV difficult to work and AC isn’t great, however we paid less than $800 for 6 nights. Owner extremely kind and accommodating, and location is amazing. Hotel is also surprisingly clean. Highly recommend if you are on a budget.
